Fractured or worn teeth are usually painful and can lead to pulp (nerve) chamber exposure. With pulp exposure there are only two treatment options, extraction or endodontic therapy (bonding, root canal). Bonding therapy is a service we provide on live teeth which smooth’s the affected site and plugs the exposed nerve chamber. This process gives the tooth time to make a permanent “patch” of its own through the deposition of reparative dentin. Depending on the state of the tooth when it was bonded, the process may have to be repeated in the future.
